Previous Story: Episode 09 Received a Simple Lodging Facility License for the Annex
Four months had passed since Yoko decided to turn the annex into a guesthouse. After going through several processes, on January 29, 2019, she finally obtained the Simple Lodging Facility license. She posted about it on Facebook with great joy and received many positive comments. There was still so much to do, but she was so happy about being at the start of the lodging business and having a place where so many people could stay.
At that time, she had no idea what would happen two months later.

One month later, on January 22 and 23, 2019, ten members from Osaka, Nara, Hyogo, and Tottori Prefectures gathered in Yodoe again. A daunting amount of stuff in the attic, three rooms in the main house, and various storage areas were cleared out all at once. Members even offered to help organizing things that Yoko was planning to do by herself. As cleaning progressed, what came out of the attic got members excited. And what they did was...

“We Will Help You. Let's Get Them Done Together!”
Every room was so overflowing with stuff and there was little place to step. Members divided their roles and sorted things out while checking Yonago City's strict trash & recyclable rules. With their help, the house became quite empty in two days.
The two Western-style rooms in the main house were overflowing with Yoko’s parents’ belongings. Yoko was planning to sort them up by herself little by little, but Nozomi-san offered, "We'll help you. Let's get them done together. Yoko, please give us instructions."
Because of her call, the cleanup progressed faster than Yoko expected.
While cleaning up, many memorable items came out from everywhere, which made Yoko nostalgic. Things that belonged to her parents and grandmother... Crafts made by her and her younger brother Shu when they were young... Even if members had never met Yoko’s family, they felt a kinship and shared memories with Yoko. They even talked about it during meal and break times.
In the beginning, thinking about the cleanup made Yoko depressed. However, this second round of the Yodoe Project became quite fun.
Finishing Off the Round With a Vaulting Box
Many things came out of the attic, such as several boxes containing ancient documents, ski equipment, a ping-pong table, a vaulting box, bunk beds, etc... Some items were so large that Yoko wondered how her parents brought them in since the only way to do was by climbing a ladder.
When Yoko and Shu were in elementary school, their father bought them a vaulting box and horizontal bar, which they often played with their friends. Yoko and the members found a vaulting box from the attic but not a horizontal bar, as it seemed to have been given to someone. They also found a ping-pong table. Between studying for the high school entrance exam, Yoko often played it with her family during break times.
On the evening of the 23rd, after the cleanup was finished, everyone jumped on the vaulting box, which completed the second round of Yodoe Project!

Next Story: Episode 11 Documents from the Edo Period and Wi-Fi-Connected Electronic Lock
In the last episode, Yoko obtained the Simple Lodging Facility license to transform an annex into a guesthouse. In order to allow guests, Yodoe Project members, and housekeepers to enter the place freely, Yoko returned to Yodoe in February, 2019 to installed a device called "Remote Lock," the world's first Wi-Fi-operated remote key. Whoever wants to enter needs to press a passcode, which they set up individually in advance. On the other hand, Yoko can remotely control them and set the terms using a Smartphone or PC, even if she is in Osaka. In between all the work, she also found time to take a closer look at the ancient documents found during the second Yodoe Project. These documents date from the late Edo to the Meiji period. She took a step back from the installation of the recent equipment to touch on the history of more than 150 years ago. She also participated in a gathering held by Mr. Oshita of the local Mei-chan Farm.
